I haven't posted this name in several years. I thought maybe in that time
someone else would have found some information that I couldn't.
John Thomas Nix was my GG Grandfather. He was born about 1846 in Coosa
County, the son of Charles C. Nix. He married Penelope (Neppy) Collins in
Autauga County in late 1865. I can't establish whether or not he fought in
the Civil War, but he would have been almost too young to have.
He's on the 1870 and 1880 Censuses in Chilton County. I found a record in
the Chilton County Courthouse, dated in 1883, where he had made arrangements
to sell an interest in the crop he was to raise. Then, in late 1887, his
widow(?), Neppy Nix, re-marries to Richard Mims.
I've never found any evidence to exactly when he died or where he might be
buried. If anyone else has any information on this person, I would greatly
appreciate it.
