Yes...you are right...It is the Mullens Cemetery...saying goes that
Davy's sister, married to an Indian Scout...died with a fever, or
childbirth while traveling through there. I saw the grave too. It was a
high mound of rock. Custom to put bodies above ground...but vandals dug
it up ine time. Write me private about who your mother was...mine was
born and raised close to Yellow Leaf Creek. The place has changed a
lot since interstate 65...and Charlie B Cox highway...and a lot of
things down toward the river.A lot of back water now...and Lay Lake. Big
resort area Built some new churches too..I still go to family reunions.

I just spoke with my mom to confirm this, but we used to go out that way
all the time when I was growing up. There is a creek out that way
called Yellow Leaf Creek and we used to go on picnics there. There is
also a cave out that way...pretty scary! There is a cemetery up on a
hill that we explored once and I remember it being a big deal because we
found a grave with Sara Crockett's name on it (supposedly she was Davey
Crockett's sister). I do recall the church you are talking about...it's
painted white right? I practically grew up on Lay Dam River, fishing
with my dad. I'll talk to my dad tonight to see if he knows any of
those Mullens. Mullens is a pretty common name in Clanton.

ulie...I learn from relatives that the Jumbo Community is the same as my
folks called Stump Hills.Apparently it was 'the big hill" that gave it
the name. The Mullins cemeteries are close together, the one up the big
hill across from their old home, was started just for their families
but a few others were put there. The Mullens are who my Mother's daddy
farmed for...in late 1800's. You turn right off 145, at Lessie's
Resturant, onto LayDam road and then take the first paved left...at a
fallen in store...go past the volunteer fire Dept...on out there...these
roads take you to the river, to the left way on down there is Lime
Springs.
