Where are these McDaniels buried at? I am going to drive over there this
weekend to look for some Thompsons I am kin to that are in Clay and Tallapoosa
Counties. I am hoping to find some McDaniels. My ggrandfather was at one
time buried near Alexander City, Tallapoosa County along with at least
his brother who was shot at the same time as he was. His name was Rising
Time, presumably a nickname. He is now buried in Shelby County. My grandfather
had him moved to where some of his mothers' family are buried. Some of
his mothers family are buried in Pinkneyville and some near Alexander City.
I sure would like to know the name of my ggrandfather. I have it narrowed
down to 4 names but have been unable to prove any of them as of yet. I
think he was not in Shelby County until after the Thompson side of my family
moved there. The land records in Shelby County only show 2 children living
with Clem & Fannie Thompson in 1899.
My grandfather was born in 1907. I believe R.T. and my grandmother Mary
Elizabeth Thompson to be married before the Thompsons moved from the Clay,
Tallapoosa county areas. Since R.T. and his brother were shot by a relative
of Mary Thompson the whole McDaniel family has been hush hush. I have heard
to versions of their death. One was because of a woman and the other was
at a poker game with one or both of them cheating. None of this really
matters, I would just like to know his real name. Any help?
Susan
