You should contact the great folks at the Anniston Library. They have
located documents for me that I thought I'd never see! They might charge a
minimum fee for copies. They can be contacted at
. There is also a lady that worked for them that did research (if I
remember correctly for a small fee) in her spare time; unfortunately I've
misplaced her name.

Subject: [ALCLAY] Need Marr. Rec. for JAMES NATHANIEL SCARBROUGH/JANE
CAROLINE GREEN 6 OCT 1874
Merry Christmas Listers: I am trying to help a lady find a marriage proof
for JAMES NATHANIEL SCARBROUGH and JANE CAROLINE GREEN who supposedly
married on 6 OCT 1874 in Clay County , AL but we have been unable to find
anything online and we live in TX. Is there a genealogy angel out there that
might have access to an Early Marriage Index for Clay County or perhaps that
could point us to a website that has this info online?
Or possibly is there a genealogy angel that works at the Clay County Library
that might have access to Early Clay county Marriage Records and would email
us a scan of the page with the data and maybe a copy of the title page? We
would be more than happy to send money for the copy and postage or scans by
email would be even better.
Thank all of you for your time and effort in considering this email and we
hope to hear back from you,
Lynda for Lois in TX
