Subject: Re: Alcorn slaveholders

I am a descendent of slaves named Alcorns. My family resided in Woodruff County, Arkansas by way of Wilson County, Tennessee. My great grandfather was named Emanuel Alcorn, born approximately 1813 in Tennessee and his parents were listed on the 1880 census as being born in Mississippi. His wife was listed as Jane (19 years younger than Emanuel). They had five children listed on the 1880 census as: Eliza 23 y.o., Louisa 21 y.o., William 13 y.o., Janie 12 y.o., and Norman 10 y.o., all born in Tennessee. I am searching for any information that could possibly be provided to identify the slaveholders and where exactly they derived from. I have tried continuously to compile a complete family history to present to the entire family, but to no avail. If there is anyone out there who could possibly shed light on my dilemma it would be very much appreciated. Please help. Clara
