Margie

Looking at the 1790 reconstructed Virginia census, I find a George Stilson
in Frederick County VA, with a total of 7 people in his family. I also find
a Joseph Stinson in Cumberland County VA, with a total of 9 whites and one
black. This is all of the Stinson or Stilson surname in Virginia in 1790.
Maybe this will give you a clue where to search further.

Regards, Robert
