Checking further in my family tree, I see there is an Amrose (no other
data), son of James Fernando DEAN (b ca 1805 in North GA.), and brother to
James Rowell and Moses A. DEAN. I'll check into it further.

<< Ambrose Dean is listed in the 1860 Dale County census. He and his wife
Mary
and their young children were listed in a household near my ancestors,
Dugald
McKay and John and Sarah McKay, and their families. Ambrose, like Dugald and
John, was listed as a mechanic.
