There was a James S. Carr; although
a native of Fla, enlisted at Clayton May
5, 1862 as Pvt, Co K, 29th Ala Inf Rgt;
captured Nashville in Dec 1864 and
remained in prison at Camp Douglas
until Jun 1865; d. at his home near
Cox's Mill, Barbour County in Oct
1882; age at enlistment, 27.
In Henry County there was a Samuel
Carr, age 51 who served as 2d Corp,
"Henry Mounted Rebels" during the
1863-64 time frame; don't know a
great deal about him other than I
believe he m. (2) Emily Freeman,
dau of Hawkins Freeman.
