2002 COLUMBUS, GA Ñ Minnie Electa Griggs Ferrell, 73, of Columbus, died
Thursday, August 1, 2002 at Columbus Hospice House. Graveside services will
be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery,
with Rev. Henry Shellman officiating, according to Colonial Funeral Home,
Phenix City. Visitation will be this evening from 6:00 till 8:00 PM at the
funeral home.
Mrs. Ferrell was born July 10, 1929 in Phenix City, AL, the daughter of the
late Mary E. "Molly" Shellman Griggs and Christopher Columbus Griggs, Sr. She
was the retired owner of The City Cafe. Mrs. Ferrell was preceded in death by
her husband, Willie Daniel Ferrell.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Ward and Rhonda Ferrell, both of
Columbus; a son, Steve Ferrell of Columbus; two sisters, Mary Louise Griggs
of Columbus and Ruth McFerrin of Phenix City; seven grandchildren and one
great grandchild.
