Rex, I loved your reply, as well as others and all are appreciated. As well
as you, my Father was never born, yet he raised three daughters, almost four
but one didn't make it beyond two months.
What a time I have had trying to get information on his birth. On his Death
Certificate it shows his Father's name as Mathison, which was wrong, and his
Mother's name as Emma Unknown! We never knew who his father was as it was
never told. What we have been told to do in order to acquire a change in the
Certificate is to get his Mother's Birth Certificate. That we have been
unable to do also. Then again, on my Mother's Death Certificate her name was
Atkinson, but was recorded as Adkinson. When my Husband died, on his Death
Certificate it said the cemetery was Indiana Springs, but the real name is
Indian Springs. Guess the Indiana sounded better. Anyway, I was able to get
it changed right away. It pays to check everything, and I do mean
everything, before the papers etc. are put away. It just might be to late as
it has been for me.
Also, as for you, and others, I'm not starting back to the beginning. If
someone knows of any mistakes, I hope they will be kind enough to let me know
and I'll again check my sources out, and I'll be thankful for what I'll be
learning.
Good Luck to all of you out there, and let's keep on looking for the right
answers. You know, sometimes it gets to be amusing!!
