The link above is for the State of Alabama Archives. They have information
for alpha A-O.

Wallace Community College at Hanceville has the CSA records for Alabama and
is a lot less expensive than the Alabama archives.

Mr. Jim Davis does a excellent job running the library and they will look up
the records and mail you a copy for a small fee. I think my last request
cost me $5.00 for the look up and .50 a page for the copies.

I am seeking information on James Alexander MCLEOD and his brother
Daniel. I would first of all like to know if James served in the 59th
Alabama, then the 27th like his brother. His brother was in Co. F of the
27th Ala when it surrendered in 1865. I would also like to identify their
parents.
