My grandparents, Harry ROISMAN and Minnie Kalmenson met and married in
Selma in 1902. Minnie was the sister of Clara BENDERSKY whose husband and
sons were town merchants. (Bendersky's Department Store.) My grandparents
had six children in Selma: Maurice, Max, Isadore, Bess, Rose and Harper.
They formed a youth band later called "Roismans Alabamians". The family
left Selma in about 1925, moved to Hollywood and became quite famous on the
vaudeville circuit for a number of years. I am trying to trace any
information from Selmans who might have known of my family.
