Since my earlier posting, I think I have learned that "Sardis" is a location and may not be the name of the church that I am seeking.

William H. Norris is said by family lore to have been a charter member of a Baptist Church in or near Sardis. This would have to be in the 1830's time frame, as by the late 1830's he was a State Representative elected from Dallas County.

I have reason to believe until the early 1830's that he was a resident of Perry County and I do not know if he moved or if the County Line was adjusted. Sorry about the earlier error... docjones Melbourne FL
