MRS. W.J. BEVERLY

On May the 1st, 1911, the death angel entered the home of Bro. W.J. Beverly
and took from him his dear christian companion who had helped him bear his
burdens and had been a helpmeet indeed. Sister Beverly was the daughter of
Jacob and Mary Luttrell. Was born at Warrensburg, Tenn. on July 10, 1859;
thus ended her life at the age of 57 years, 9 months and 21 days. She had
five brothers and two sisters, three of whom are still living; W.C. Luttrell
and Mrs. Mary Paxon, both of Morristown, Tenn. and Mrs. R.E. Humphries of
Paris, Tex. She professed religion and joined the church in her sixteenth
year. She was married to Mr. W.J. Beverly Nov. 9, 1896. Sister Beverly was
truly a religous woman. She served her god and generation well. Her going
away leaves a broken hearted husband and many sorrowing relatives and
friends. Her life was pure, simple, humble and devoted but she has not lived
in vain. Her influence has been exerted in the direction of religion, her
life has been projected on the right lines. Home is more desolate and lonely
but heaven is nearer and richer.

" One less at home! Its Queen has left us crowned with heavenly grace,
She reigns with god in your celestial place,
And evermore behold her bridegroom's face,
One more in heaven, one less at home!
Her gentle soul, her regal mien and all,
The charms that glow from sweet affection threat,
We miss, but there's for us, although griefs appall,
One more in heaven, one less at home!

MRS. L.G. JONES

Whereas, your loving heavenly father in his infinite wisdom, saw fit to take
from our midst, April 28, 1911, our dear sister Mrs. L.J. Jones, who was a
faithful member of the Baptist Church and Ladies Aid of this place, who passed
quietly and triumphantly into that glorious life of joy and everlasting
consolation at the right hand of god.
Her departure brought to us sorrow and a deeply felt loss yet we rejoice with
her in the triumphs of the christian faith. The sweet influence of her life
and character will long be felt by all who knew her, as a lingering
benediction and sacred heritage to bless and inspire our lives to better
things.

Be it resolved first, that we, in memory of her and in love to her loved ones
left behind, express to them our deepest sympathy and our desire to help and
comfort them. Resolved, further, that the god of peace may ever guide the
children and grandchildren to walk in the savior's steps that they may all
meet again. Be it further resolved that these resolutions be spread upon our
minutes and a copy be sent to the Alabama Baptist for publication and also a
copy sent to the family.
