NEW NUGGETS

BY WILL I. MARTIN

LOCAL FACTORIES DRAW VISITORS

I. P. Bricker, buyer for Gimbel Bros. of Pittsburgh, was a Gadsden
guest of the Agricola Furnace Company.
Mr. Bricker was here to look over this company's line as well as the
A. & J. Manufacturing Company's products in gas ranges, stoves and heaters.
The two local concerns have become well established with the trade in
their respective markets, and C. Ackerson, vice president and general
manager of Agricola Furnace Company, is more and more successful each year
in bringing his buyers to Gadsden in order not only to show them his lines
and plants, but to show them Gadsden's other indus- tries and the city in
general.
This idea of Mr. Ackerson's is getting results in bringing high-class
men from the North, Middlewest and East to Gadsden, and brings the city
much favorable comment and the resultant publicity is of great value to
Gadsden, it is believed.
Mr. Bricker was delighted with Gadsden and what he saw convinced him
that the real growth of the city had only begun.
