Redesigned Library of Congress Web Site - The Library of Congress in
Washington, DC, is known as an excellent repository of genealogical
publications in the U.S. The site has been completely redesigned. The
site is your gateway into the LOC online catalog, from which you may
gather information to request photocopies of book indexes and specific
pages through Interlibrary Loan. The American Memory Collection and
Exhibitions areas provide important historical and genealogical
insights.

Finding the Ideal Researcher - If you have ever considered hiring a
professional researcher to help get you past that brick wall, you know
you want to be thorough in your investigation of a well-qualified and
trustworthy researcher. A contract is always in order to spell out
expectations on both sides and to protect both you and the researcher. A
site on the Web called "Finding the Ideal Researcher" offers some
excellent advice for your consideration as you start assessing the
possibilities. Invest the reading and research time upfront to maximize
results and minimize headaches later.
