Hi
Well, in my University classes where I majored in Anthropology, we had to
write enormous amounts of papers, and proper citation format ( depending on
which is used, such MLA etc) is to always cite your sources. There are
certain formats used by the various areas, I am not sure which is used in
Genealogy, maybe a format such as used in Historical Sciences.

about the source? Whether there is a byline or not, shouldn't you write
down the source as to where you received the information? (Meaning the name
of the paper, plus date , page and column?)
