Message Board Post:

My cousin recently gave me a letter which I believe is a typed version of an original that was found at the Georgia Archives. The letter is from Lee County, Georgia, 19th District, dated January 18, 1828, concerning Indian disturbances.

Names that appear on tis letter are Wiley Pierse, Dugal McKeithen, John and Thomas L. Thomason, Saml A. and Moses Grier, Archibald McKisic, E. Lovett, J.P., Spencer Wright, William and Dempsey Chancey, William and John Grantham, Richard Knight, John B. Tell, Henry Audulf, Spencer Brown, Elbert Miller, Phillup Hutton, Ephrim Loovet, and Reuben Y. Burts. A corner of the original was torn but it is believed that one of the two names that were torn is that of Levin Wright. The letter was sent to a Mr. John Forsyth Millegeville Ballden County, GA. The spelling on this query follows the spelling in the letter.

I am in the process of asking James to post a copy of the letter to the Henry County web site so that others may see the letter.
