Janet,
I mistakenly posted the response directly
to you when I should have posted it to the
board, surely there are other Summerford
descendants out there; at any rate couple
of the line here who drew pensions from
state of Miss:
J.C. Sumerford, w/o William D. Cal
Sumerford, 1st Miss Inf Rgt; resided in
Itawamba County in 1902.
L.C. Sumerford, w/o W.C. Sumerford; in
Itawamba County in 1908; 1st Miss Inf
Rgt.
W.C. Summerford, 1st Miss Inf, Itawamba
County in 1902.
In looking, believe that all of the above
are one Soldier and his wife, but with
scrambled records which are quite common.
