My husband's grandfather, George W. Hullett, died in Ellis County, Texas in
October, 1916 from typhoid fever. His whole family had it but even though
he had it he never went to bed with it so he could take care of the children
and save their lives. Consequently, he got pneumonia from it and died.
Back in those days they didn't have water that came to them from treatment
plants. They got their water from a well or from a spring and that is where
the typhoid fever gets started from. The Hullett famliy got the typhoid
from their water source.
