My Kirkland was a first cousin of Lame Ben, their fathers were Caleb, and
Moses. Who were brothers. My Colonel Benjamin KIRKLAND was born 5 Apr 1794
the eldest child born to Caleb and Sarah Ransom KIRKLAND. his daughter Mila
married Dr. Jon Edward PRICE these were the grandparents of mother's
grandmother OATES her Daddy's mother. Mila and Francis Marion KIRKLAND were
second cousins. Francis Marion was the great-grandfather of Norma Ann MCGILL
of Birmingham, Alabama. Norma's father was Coy KIRKLAND. Her grandfather
Harry, the son of Francis Marion. Lame Ben would be her
greatgreatgrandfather.

Benjamin H. "Lame Ben" Kirkland was born March 27, 1800 in Edgefield Co.
SC, and died August 16, 1878 in Henry County Alabama. He married Sarah
Kirkalnd
February 19, 1826 in Henry County Alabama. She was born January 19, 1808,
and died June 13, 1892 in Henry County Alabama. They are buried in the
Kirkland/Brackin Cemetery in Henry County near Concord Church.
