I am new to this family line in Lauderdale County. I am searching for any information on JESSE CALVIL LITTRELL, b. 1878. His father was MOSES LITTRELL. I have only family tradition to start with, but I discovered numerous Littrell family references in my copy of the Lauderdale County family history book. I also have a copy of McDonald's great book on the County's history. Any assistance in starting this apparently old Lauderdale County family line would be appreciated. Jesse Littrell's son is DONALD DWAYLE LITTRELL, currently living in Saltillo, Hopkins County, Texas. Donald Littrell's son is GARY DON LITTRELL, currently living in Sulphur Springs, Hopkins County, Texas. The Littrell family apparently came to Texas circa 1900 with ten other families from Lauderdale County, including a family named GLOSSUP, whose members still reside in Hopkins County. I have been told that the trip from Lauderdale required several months hard travel for this group for this group. I have not yet identified all of the families from Lauderdale that relocated to Texas, but research has just begun. I also found the GLOSSUP family in the Lauderdale County family history book. Any leads on this line would be greatly appreciated.

My maternal line is that of WILLIAM MARION JOHNSON and ERSLEY (EARLY) SPRINGER JOHNSON of Lauderdale County and later in Tippah County, MS. I have extensive information on this Johnson line. I will be happy to share anything I have. The researchers in Lauderdale County have been exceedingly generous and helpful throughout the years, and if I can be of assistance to anyone, please feel free to contact me.
