Jesse John Favor was a son of John C. Favor and Elizabeth Hudson. Jesse is found in the 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 US Census records for Lowndes County. He married James "Jimmie" Sturdivant Meriwether on March 3, 1881 in Fort Deposit. Jimmie was named for her father who died before she was born. His name was James Sturdivant Meriwether and her mother was Susan T. Reid. In my records Jesse and Jimmy had a son named Jerry William Favor. He was living with his great aunt Sarah Hampton Reid Garrett, and her husband, William Mallam Garrett (my great uncle) in the 1900 US Census in Lowndes County. Jesse and Jimmie are buried in Temple Gate Cemetery, #2 in Lowndes County.

Jerry W. Favor is found in the 1930 US Census in Detroit, MI. The Jerry W. was born in Alabama in 1893. He is married to Lillian F., age 30. Thier children are: Juanita, age 9, Reid W., age 7, and Jerry, Jr., age 5. All were born in Alabama
