I am researching two Black American families with a long history in
Cotton Valley and Creekstand (Macon), AL prior to Slavery - FORT & CLOUD.
The oldest FORTs are two brothers (I believe) Alex (Ellick) FORT
(1826- > 1910) and Nathan FORT Sr. (1841-1928) from SC; and Charlie
CLOUD (1825- <1920) from VA. I am running into the "Brick Wall" with
those two surnames, so I decided to throw out some leads on some of the
branches in hopes of making new connections.

Nathan FORT Jr. married Lula CLOUD in 1895
Elizabeth CLOUD (1886-1961) married Eddie CLARK
Laura CLOUD (1885-1964) married Willie CLARK (1888-1974) Brother to
Eddie)
Dora CLARK married Elias PRIDE abt 1898
Alex FORT married Hestor BURT (sp) in 1865
Thomas FORT married Charity JOHNSTON in 1896
Tolula CLOUD married Jim JORDAN abt 1913
James CLOUD married Henrietta ALEXANDER in 1925
Roberta CLOUD married John HENRY
Evora CLOUD married Courtney ADAMS
Mary CLOUD married Frank BROOKS
Richard CLOUD married Naomi WILSON
Green CLARK married Rose McDONALD in 1883
Rosie Lee FORT (1903-1973) married Peter SULLENS (SULLINS) (1910-1981)
Charles FORT married Irene MOTLEY in 1928
Charles Fort married Jamie Mae WILLIAMS in 1924
Emma FORT (1898-1985) married Norman WILSON (1899-1966)

If you recognize any of these names or you think there may be a
