In case you don't have these census records, here is James Solomon
household 1860. The Farm Census of 1866 shows that James has already
met his demise; and 1870 the widow Sarah. Sorry I didn't note the date
the census were taken.

Subject: [ALMONROE-L] Sarah's land patent

Hello,

Using the BLM web site I found additional proof that the Sarah who
married
Asa WILKINSON and the Sarah who married John Monroe Stacey are the same.
The
BLM records show two parcels of land issued on 12/05/1884 to Sarah. The
description and number are the same for both names. see below

WILKINSON, SARAH A AL 12/05/1884 3189 AL4650__.001

1 E½NE 7/ 5-N 6-E No St STEPHENS AL
MONROE
---
2 W½NW 8/ 5-N 6-E No St STEPHENS AL MONROE

---

STACY, SARAH A AL 12/05/1884 3189 AL4650__.001
1 E½NE 7/ 5-N 6-E No St STEPHENS AL
MONROE
---
2 W½NW 8/ 5-N 6-E No St STEPHENS AL
MONROE
---

The name Sarah A. WILKINSON and Sarah A. STACY are both on the
certificate.
However, the spelling STACY is used, not STACEY. I believe the land is
in the
Manistee -- Dennards Bluff area.

Also, this is not the Sarah (Godbold?) who was the widow of John G.
SOLOMON.
That Sarah was 53 in the 1850 census. I believe this Sarah's maiden name
was
GRIMES and she was a widow before marrying Asa WILKINSON about 1871.

The Sarah WILKINSON buried at Polar Bridge Cemetery has the middle
initial H.
I think that is an error and should be an A. The tombstone shows she
was
born 10/3/1836 and died 8/9/1922. She was married to John Monroe Stacey
after
Asa WILKINSON died.

Grant (If I had it to do over agan, I would.)

Searching for JOHNSTON, JOHNIKEN, MIDDLETON, WILKINSON, and related
names in
AL. S. LA. and TX.
