My mother's father's name was William Peter Revel born on 1-25-1871 in Liverpool England.

Peter Oliver is the same man-he changed his last name as he went AWOL from the French army and had run away from home and jumped ship and the captain's name was Oliver and this is how it all happened. The name Oliver really does not have any real blood lines.

He married Mary Caroline Hernandez born on January 5, 1878 in Montgomery Alabama.

Does any one know if the marriage certificates give the names of the brides parents? if so how would I go about getting a copy. I don't need a certified copy.

How about death certificates? Where do I get death certificates for Mary and William? would they even be available that far back? we do not know the date of death however.

We believe he never used the Revel name in AL that he was always an OLIVER there.
