Hi To all
My names is John Coulter. I am interested in tracing my MYHAND ancestors
that lived in Pike County, AL.
My ggrandfather Jesse W. MYHAND and his wife and children lived there
according to the 1860 Census of Pike County, AL as did his father and
mother James and Margaret (Peggy) MYHAND. Jesse joined the CSA while living
there in, I believe 1862 or 1863. That is the last record I have been able
to find of anyone except fot Jesse's wife and children. In 1870 they were
in Muscogee County, GA. (not in town.) and I assume this to mean the town
of Columbus, GA. I would like to know if the two families left there
togather and some of them died in Muscogee County, GA
I am missing James and Margaret (Peggy) MYHAND and their son Jesse MYHAND.
Incidentally, in the 1840 and 1850 Census they were in Harris County, GA
Any information will be appreciated.
Are there graveyards that they would likely be in more so than other. I
know a lot of them have started up after 1870 so they wouldn't be there.
If anyone has any leads I will make a trip there to investigate them
