Hi Bob

The opening of land may be one reason for the migration to Pike Cty, however
I recently read the migration was to avoid a movement against slavery in the
Carolinas. I did not originally respond to the query because I was trying to
remember which book I was reading. This is a time when you wish you had
documented the info for future reference :-). I think it was one of Charles
Blockson's.
