Surname: Raley
-------------------------

Hi Homer,

Ervin Raley was the son of William Raley and Morning Marie Lowery of Kershaw
County, SC. I think you may be asking about Ervin's son who was also Ervin.
The elder Ervin Raley(Railey) was quoted in the Troy Messenger, Nov. 12,
1874 saying that he had five sons in the (Civil) War. They were Irvin (or
Ervin)L. Raley, Co. A 60th Alabama who died at Montgomery before the end
of the war, Thomas B. Raley, Co. I, 15th Alabama, Columbus H. Raley, Co.
H, 18th Alabama, Joseph W. Railey, Co. A, 60th Alabama, and Levi D. Railey,
who served in a South Carolina regiment. These were all sons of Ervin Raley
and Rebecca Pate. Ervin later married Sara Pate, Rebecca's sister, and
finally, Mary A. Williams. Hope this is helpful.
