JUANITA GIBSON MORRIS
November 27, 1917 - February 16, 2002
Phenix City, AL - Juanita G. Morris, 84, of Phenix City, AL, died Saturday,
February 16, 2002, at Phenix City Health Care.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at Lakeview Cemetery, with
Reverend Dexter James officiating, according to Colonial Funeral Home, Phenix
City. Visitation will be this evening from 5-8:00 PM at the funeral home,
613 14th Street, Phenix City.
Mrs. Morris was born November 27, 1917, in Pike County, AL, the daughter of
the late Kate Park Gibson and Kenneth O. Gibson. She was a member and a long
time nursery worker at Central Baptist Church in Phenix City. At Central
High School she was a Lunchroom Manager. Mrs. Morris was a member of Senior
Wise 65 and retired from Alabama Teachers Association. She was predeceased
by her husband, Johnson C. "Red" Morris; brothers: Glenn Gibson and Arvis
Gibson and a sister: Norma Hearn.
Survivors include two daughters: Gay M. White and husband, Rick of Tupelo,
MS, and Joye M. Greathouse of Phenix City; a son, R. Kyle Morris and wife,
Deborah of Seale, AL; a brother, Earl Gibson of Columbus; six grandchildren,
Cindy Horne, Scott Greathouse, Dana Starnes, Andy White, Philip White, Julie
Bennett and three great grandchildren: Ciara Corbitt, Cameron Starnes and
Sean Greathouse.
