Goshen Hill, Beat No 10, Pike County, Al, enumerated on 04 Aug 1870 by F. B.
Johnson on page 416, lines 25 through 33, family/household 188/188 lists:
Davis, Sherrod, 54yo white male, farmer, 800/500 born in NC
Rebecca, 55yo white female, keeping house, unable to read or write
Mary A. L., 30 year old white female born in AL
Matilda, 25 yo white female, born in AL
Sherrod C., 21 yo, white male, born in AL
Nancy M., 19 yo white female, born in AL
Henry G., 16 yo white male, born in AL
Anson B., 12 yo white male, born in AL
Alexander W., 10 yo white male born in AL
I also found a Sherrod Davis in KY in the 1850 census. Sherrod is such an
unusual name that he may be related, but I don't think that it is the same
person, but the listing is:
Grant County, KY 1850, page 326, ennumerated 31 Aug 1850 by William S.
Rankin.
He is listed on line 10 living with the Samuel Angleton family listed as a
laborer (Samuel Angleton is listed as a chair maker). He is listed as being 24
years old, cannot read or write and listed as being born in TN.
Hope this helps,
Rusty, IBSSG
