I am sorry if you received this message more than once, but I am sending
this message to several different list that I am on.

I am looking for information on S.B. Jordon born about 1830 in Georgia and
Cyrus Wilson Stewart, Sr. born 1 Jan 1802 in Mecklinburg County, N.C.

I am trying to verify that Cyrus Wilson Stewart, Sr. married Cynthia
Mayberry born about 1810 and died 1873 in Randolph County, Alabama.

I am also trying to find out who S.B. Jordon's 2 wives maiden names are. His
first wife was Elizabeth born about 1839 in Tennessee. His second wife was
Mary (I believe she was the daughter of Cyrus Wilson Stewart, Sr.) born 1837
in Georgia. Mary would be my great-great grandmother.

My grandmother always said that she was related to Stewart's. I know her
mother's half sister Mary Ann Jordon married Cyrus Wilson Stewart, Jr. but I
really don't think my grandmother would have remembered that. So I feel that
if she knew she was related to the Stewart's it would have to have been a
direct link.

Here is all the information I have (I hope this isn't all to confusing):

After both families came to Randolph County, AL they lived just several
doors from each other.

STEWART'S

1. In 1840, Cyrus, Sr. was in Pike County, Georgia. He is probably the male
listed as being between the ages of 30 - 40. His wife is probably the female
that is listed between the ages of 20 - 30. There is 2 females listed under
the age of 5 (Mary R., born 1837 and Louise "Katie", born about 1838).

2. In 1850, Cyrus, Sr. was in Marion County, Georgia. Those listed are:
Cintha, 40 - Mary, 13 - Louise, 12 - George, 10 - Sarah Ann, 8 - John, 7 -
William, 5 - Cyrus, 4 - and Henry, 1.

3. In 1860, Cyrus, Sr. was in Randolph County, Alabama. Those listed are:
Cintha A., 50 - Mary R., 23, - George A., 20, Sarah A., 18 - William T.,
16 - Cyrus W., 14, - Henry N., 11. Louise "Katie" is missing off this
census. We know Louise Katie died of measles in 1858.

4. In 1870, Cyrus, Sr. is still in Randolph County, Alabama. Those listed
are: Synthia, 60 - Mary R., 33 - Sarah, 28 - William T., 26 - Silas W.
(Cyrus), 22.

5. In 1880, Cyrus, Sr. is in Randolph County, Alabama. His daughter Sarah,
age 36, is the only child still living with him.

Cyrus Wilson Stewart, Jr. married Mary Ann Jordon, she is the daughter of
S.B. Jordon and Elizabeth. Mary Ann Jordon Stewart is the half sister to my
great-grandmother.

In 1880 when Mary R. Stewart falls off the census and my Mary R. Jordon
appears.

JORDON'S

1. In 1850, S.B. Jordon was in Franklin County, GA Enoch and Permelia Smith.

2. In 1860, I can not find him.

3. In 1870, S.B. Jordon was in Randolph County, AL. Those living with him
were Elizabeth 31, TN - Mary Ann 13, AL (married Cyrus Wilson Stewart,
Jr.) - James 10, AL (James married Mary Cordelia Stewart) - Synthia 7, AL
(Synthia married Isham J. Bolt) - Charles 1, AL.

In 1880 when Mary R. Stewart falls off the census and my Mary R. Jordon
appears.

4. In 1880, S.B. Jordon is in Randolph County, AL. Those living in his
household were Mary, wife - J.W., son - Cintha, daughter, - C.H., son -
Annie, daughter - Sarah, daughter (this is my great-grandmother).

I don't if Annie's mother is Elizabeth or Mary, since Annie was born in 1872
and Sarah my great-grandmother was born in 1878.

5. S.B. Jordon falls off the census by 1900.

6. In 1900 my great-great grandmother, Mary R. Jordon is living with her
daughter (Sarah) and was 63 years of age. She states she had 2 children with
only 1 living.

7. In 1910 my great-great grandmother, Mary R. Jordon, was living with her
daughter (Sarah) and she was 73 years old. She states she had 2 children
with only 1 living.

8. I received her death certificate which has her father listed as Sam
Jordon, I feel this is a mistake. I feel that they listed her husband Sam
Jordon (S.B.) as her father. It has her mother listed as Cynthia Mooney
(this could be a mistake and her maiden could actually be Mayberry.) That is
why I am trying to find documentation about who Cyrus, Sr. married. She was
77 years old when she died, which would be the same year that Mary R.
Stewart was born. She was born in GA. and was a widowed.

I have also been in touch with some of Cynthia Jordon Bolt's descendants.
They state that Cynthia had a step-mother who was Molly Stewart Jordon.
Molly is a nickname for Mary.

If anyone has information on these families or can come up with any other
theories or possibilities or ideas, please contact me at

Warm Regards,
Belinda
