will no longer be a customer with your company and the below response you
gave to one concerned customer is being sent to over 1000 mail lists, so
these fellow family researchers can judge your company's concern for the
economic well being of the uninformed new family researchers.

Chevron is mailing their credit card holders a solicitation for the
Halbert's "The New World Book of (Your Family Name)!

When I contacted Chevron, and complained, they replied as follows:

"Halberts is in compliance with the U.S. Post Office. The disclosure is
on the solicitation that is in a box on the order form. It states "No
direct genealogical connection to your family or to your ancestry is
implied or intended." The information in the book contains only a
general look at your name, the people who share it, and how you can go
about expanding your knowledge of your family history. The book gives
addresses as to how you can research this information."
