No Children were born During the Civil War period may indicate J.T. Smith
was away during the War. I wonder if he and John Hunter Smith served in the
same unit? I also suspect he could have served in a another Alabama unit or
a Georgia Unit since he lived just over the state line form Columbus
Georgia.

other members had Initials.

I have found a reference to a J. Wiley Smith at Myrtle Springs, Van Zandt
Co., Texas.

Our Wiley Smith married into a Famous Ice Cream producing family in Ft Worth
and

he has two sons that are reported to have worked for the Kansas City Star
News Paper.

I checked the Newspaper archives and they have no record of them.

I can't find "WA" in the 1880 Census at Van Zandt Co., TX.

I found a WA Smith the right age in Russel CO Alabama.

He could have still been in Alabama as well.

Millies date of death in the Death index for the state of Texas is

11-1-1936.

On the 1990 Census Van Zandt Co. Pct. 3 Millie claims to have been

born Jan 1862 which fits the 1860 Census, while living with her

parents, much closer. I think she was born in 1862 instead of 1863.
