wfish, I know what you mean bout the Cemeteries not being taken care of.

I am going to see what I can to about my ancestor's graves in Washington
County Alabama. A Dentist bought the land for Deer Hunting and in the
summer the grass, weeds and bushes are so high along with the snakes,
so that you can't get in winter or summer.
I have talked with him and he could care less.
I am not sure what I am or will be allowed to do but I am getting started on
it.

My great grandpapa was a Minister , State Rep. and fought in the Civil War. I
would love to find his grave along with my gr great grandmother's grave and
see that he has a marker where he lies. Dr. Joseph Waldrop was also ambushed
and shot and killed in Escatawpa. The murderers were never found his death
in 1871 was written up as a radical murder. His death was written up in the
Mobile Register in 1871, he has just finished a term in Montgomery, Alabama
in the Capital. He was a State Rep and fought in the Civil War, I would love
to
find his grave and place a marker for him.

The Doctor told me if I wanted to dodge the shotguns in the winter and the
snakes in the summer , I was welcome to work on the Cemetery at anytimes.
But no, he would not help us.

If anyone has any ideas what I can do Please let me know. The Old Escatawpa
Cemetery is in Washington County, Alabama on the Mississippi and Alabama
line and about 60 miles from Mobile , Alabama, Mobile County.

In the Cemetery also buried is the Baxters, Platts, Willifords, Deas, Coopers
maybe Buckaloos.
