Mooney- Funeral services for George A. Mooney, of 1619 South 16th Ave.,
Phenix City, will be held Sunday afternoon 2 o'clock, Striffler-Hamby
Chapel, with Rev. L. O. Peck and Rev. Dan Waller, officiating. Interment
will be in Riverdale Cemetery. The following will serve as active
pallbearers, R. E. Davidson, R. H. Williams, Ralph Stephens, Thomas Cooper,
W. W. Thomas, and J. M. Clemmons. Honorary pallbearers will be members of
the Local Painters Union No. 348. Mr. Mooney is survived by his wife, Mrs.
Nettie Mooney of Phenix City; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Watson, Columbus; 2
step daughters, Mrs. Aubrey Fryer, Columbus, and Mrs. Sara Gates, Phenix
City; three sons, George E. and Oscar P. Mooney, of Columbus and Earl
Mooney, with U.S. Army, stationed in Germany; a step son, L. L. McCord,
Phenix City; two brothers, Oscar P. and Edwin T. Mooney, both of Columbus,
also eight grandchildren and six great grand children.
