I am researching a group of Zimmermans who migrated from Steffisburg, Switzerland to Sainte-Marie-Aux-Mines in the early 1690's. By the early 1730's they were migrating to Pennsylvania. The earliest arrived on the Pink Plaisance in 1732; Peter Zimmerman arrived on the Friendship in 1739; and another group arrived on the Hope in 1733. I believe they were all related. They were Anabaptist, either Mennonite or Amish. Some relatives may have lived at Montbeliard.
I am seeking some documentation about these families in Alsace. I want to find that they truly did live here and find out how long they stayed. I need to know their children and grand-children. While I am very certain that these migrations occurred, I have absolutely no documentary proof to back up my suppositions. I need proof.
I would appreciate any help.
