While discussion of Alsace Mennonites is on-topic here, keep in mind that
posting about your emigrants and their descendants in America might be
more successful in lists that cover those areas. The experts about
Alsace-Lorraine genealogy hang out on this list. The experts in Mennonite
research will be on the Mennonite lists.




Thank you for your informative response to our query regarding certain
Bachman ancestry in the Alsace-Lorraine region. As a point of clarification,
the reference to the Mennonite/Anabaptist belief system of these ancestors
should be thought of as more properly a "common denominator" and as a
means of possible identification. Our research, by necessity, is now in
Alsace-
Lorraine, and we feel that the genealogical "experts" with experience in
this part of the world will be of tremendous value in working our puzzle.
