Ken,

The 1836 Census is on CD. If you need a look-up I can do it. Send request
directly to me.

This CD is an excellent tool but it lacks the ability to do all types of
searches, ex. by village; occupation; religion; etc. It does allow a wild
card search by the start of a surname and a combination of occupations,
religions, etc. It would be interesting to me at least to be able to know
how many families in a village were of one religion; or how many blacksmiths
etc. there were; or who were the villagers in
my ancestor's village.

Jim: How did you obtain the census record? I recently asked a question on
this list as to how to get a census but no one responded? Having seen
some census reports for Bas-Rhin last year at the genealogy office in
Strasbourg, I wondered whether these have yet been placed on a web site for
ancestor researchers to locate?
