Subject: A Mystery Epidemic ???

Could someone tell me if you know of an epidemic in Shelby Co.1829-1830 where a great many people died? In my Carden / Stinson / Lyon families there were the deaths of James Carden & his wife Mary "Polly" Lyon Carden; John Stinson & his wife Rebecca Lyon Carden and possibly several of their children all in the same year. No family records speak of a reason.

Another resesarcher has shared that the 1830 Orphan's Court Records show John & Sophia LYON are made guardians of several of their grandchildren - Harvey & Stacy Carden; Edna, Hugh Asa & Henry Stinson....these were the children of the above named parents who died.

Gravestones might give a clue...does anyone know where members any LYON or STINSON families might be buried in Shelby Co. ?
