As someone who works near the area in question, let me shed some light on
a few things.
Damen and Madison is where the current United Center is. It runs from
Monroe to Madison and east towards Wood Street (1800 W). The old Chicago
Stadium was across the street from the current UC with its n/s borders
being Madison and Warren Blvd.
I work at Ashland and Lake Streets which is 140N, 1600W.
There is a Robie Street at 1400 West. It changes to Loomis south of
Madison I believe.
I am not sure where street names are changed in that area. I know they
will change a name if they want to name it after someone famous. The
current Damen Ave might be names after Fr. Damen, a famous Jesuit who
build Holy Family Church, on Roosevelt and May Streets.
Hope this might help.

Ahh the smell of spring....must mean that BASEBALL SEASON has started.
26yo rabid Chicago White Sox fan here to talk to about baseball and a
myriad of other topics in life. Other favorites include: music (AG and
DG's music RULE!), travelling (no trips so far this year....), meeting new
folks, motorcycles (HARLEYS RULE, but no got one yet), among other
things....Be sure to finger or write me e-mail for more details.
As of April 6, 1998, the Sox are 3-3..... .500...could be better could be
worse. The encouraging thing is that at least they look like they have
some HEART and actually can scrap some runs.....GO SOX!! Next one against
Texas......
