It depends what you want to look for.

If you want family histories, I recommend the DAR and NGS. DAR has
25000 or so. NGS has about 15000. In many cases they have different ones.
If you want maps, try LOC. If you want census data or passenger lists,
NARA is definitely the place to go. If you want indices go to NGS.
