But, Kim, as I said, the SSDI does NOT give the place of death. Only
an "address of record." The person could die in France on vacation
and, as in your case, the address of record could be thousands of
miles from where the person actually lived and/or died.
The ZIPs in the SSDI tell you nothing - except possibly (1) where you
might find an obituary and (2), if there is a second ZIP given, a
possible place to look for descendants and/or heirs.
Therefor, the ZIPs have little bearing on doing a search and should
only be used to affirm other known info, not as a search criterion.
The best clue in identifying people on the SSDI is DOB.
