Subject: Re: Not Married, how to research?
Date: Sun, 01 Aug 1999 09:22:56 GMT
Since Julia is in the UK, is there anything in the UK that is
comparable to the USA's Social Security Death Index?
If the mother does not add additional information, perhaps searching
city directories in the area of the second child's birth for the name
of the father would help. Any indication on the child's birth
certificate of how old the father was at the time of the child's birth
or where the father was born? If the father's place of birth was shown,
perhaps the census for that time and place could be searched, although
it's my understanding that the UK does not release censuses for 100
years after they are taken, so this might not be available.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
