You missed the first of this thread where I exlained how Microsoft used
underhanded strong arm mafia like techniques to force companies to not
develop for other platforms in exchange for information on Windows 95
before it came out. And the fact that they kept making modifications to
applications and windows support to ensure that software would only run
on their platform. This is to off topic to continue in this group but
if you want to switch to alt.folklore.computers then we can start again.
