Through about half a year I have tryed Ancestry.com. bring my tip
about scanning negetives / glassnegatives, but they seems need
enthusiasm for the case, so here is my tip.

You will need a piece of white plexiglass 1/8" thick and translucent
for light - or opal glass, and a lamp with a 150 Watt soft light or
white light bulb.
The plexiglass can be purchased from a plastics supplier, the opal
glass may be purchased at a framing/glass supply store and the light
bulb can usually be found at a photographic supply store or electrical
supply / lamp store.
place your negative on the scanner glass with the dark side facing
down - leaving the lid open. Place the plexiglass or opal glass on top
of the negative.
Shine the light bulb approximately 8 inches ( 20 Centimeter ) above
the negative - and scan.
Invert negative to positive images and view them as photos on your
monitor.
If you want to se a draw " haw to do " go to alt.binaeries - Scanning
Negatives

Good luck - and enjoy !
