Uh, oh - a complication: When I go to this page:
http://www.scanjet.hp.com/accessories/
I notice they now have three similar-looking adapters, each one
for a different group of HP scanners. (When I first looked at this
site there was only one.) The uniformity of illumination is fairly
sensitive to the alignment and I suspect the mirrors in each are tweaked
differently.
Which (if any) of these will work with any particular non-HP
scanner is a question I can't answer. Perhaps a misalignment
could be corrected by shimming the front or back (long) edge,
but you'd be risking your $19.95.
My original comments were based on the adapter which was included
with my HP-6200C scanner.
