It sounds like he lived in the Brooklyn area -- have you looked in the
probate and circuit courts for the county for any other references to him in
the dockets? Another thing to try is to look through the deed registers for
other Jacksons who bought property in the area from around the same time as
his lifespan and going back earlier. From this, with a little sleuthing,
you may be able to find a sibling, or even the parent (this will take a bit
of corroboration to be able to confirm it. For example, if he had a brother
who was about five years younger, you may be able to find a reference to him
still living with their parents in the 1850 census.

Other ideas -- have you looked at state census records? How about churches
in the area? Was the marriage performed by a minister or by a justice of
the peace? If by a minister that might give a clue of which church to go.
If not, you may have to hunt around the various churches in the area.

It's addictive, isn't it? :-)
