Hello Michelle,
The Ellis Island Database covers New York arrivals from 1892-1924. If
they arrived in New York before or after that period you can find some
help locating the passenger records here...

Finding New York Passenger Arrival Records 1820-1957

If they arrived at a port other than New York see...

Finding Passenger Lists 1820-1940s (arrivals at US Ports)

If you believe they did arrive at New York from 1892-1924 and you cannot
find them in the Ellis Island Database, try starting your search here...
