Evening, Ed...
Entry in the 1888 City Directory for I F Knowlton is...
Knowlton, Isaac F. (C. H. Thompson & Co.), agricultural warehouse,
71 Clinton, home at Hamilton.
The 1880 Federal Census for Hamilton shows an Isaac Knowlton living
in Hamilton, Mass., as a farmer, age 78, with wife Nancy, 81 (Blind).
There are three families of Knowlton's living side by side. It either
means that Isaac was a partner or associate to Charles Thompson.
The city directories I have encountered in Boston are usually divided
into two parts: 1) contains a listing of citizens, and; 2) contains a
section
of advertisements. This CD does not contain the second section.
I am planning to visit the Library of Congress shortly and look up some
other Boston directories. While there I'll check to see if there is more
info
on the C. H. Thompson Company.
Regards...Bob
